Red Velvet

This product comes in two colors, Red Velvet, a really deep bold red, and Suedeberry, which is more of a coral red.
This is the only product I've tried so far from the Lime Crime makeup line. I think these are one of their highly sold products. They were sold out for a while before I was able to get my hands it. It comes in a tube and wand applicator (like lip glosses), and the wand is thin enough that you can apply with precision. It's wet when you first apply to the lips but dries matte. The color is vibrant and very pigmented! I wore it all day today and I'm impressed with it's lasting power. Throughout the day, I was able to eat and drink (sandwich, salad, water and juice), and kiss my husband and son, without the lip stain transferring. However, I think grease might affect that long lasting wear because I had pizza for dinner tonight and the color started to come off. Not entirely, but when I used a napkin to dab my lips, the color transferred a little bit at a time. With that being said, "Don't eat greasy foods!" Lol.
At the end of the night when you're ready to take it off, wiping it away like a lipstick is impossible. It is a lip stain so use makeup remover.
Overall, this is a great product due to it's lasting wear. No need to touch up during the day because that lip color isn't going anywhere (unless you eat something greasy). Right now I'm really into red lips; I love the boldness it gives ^_^
A Velvetine tube is $16.99. You can purchase it from their website: Lime Crime

If you prefer something similar but more affordable and can be purchased in stores, you can also try NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme. I wrote a review on this product almost two years ago, you can read the post HERE.

Thanks for reading!

From Head to Toe

I had the pleasure to meet YouTube beauty guru, Jen (Fromheadtotoe) this past weekend while she was here in the midwest. A few years ago, my friend Susan got me watching beauty gurus on YouTube and Fromheadtotoe was the only beauty channel I knew and watched. It was an exciting moment; Jen is a sweetheart and just as beautiful as she is in her videos.

My travel makeup & necessities

As I had mentioned in yesterday's post, we were out of town this past weekend. I wanted to share what makeup and necessities I bring on trips back home to visit my family. These are things I usually pack; I always try to limit myself on what I bring. First, it makes room for other things such as clothes and/or shoes (which I usually pack more than one pair). Second, my husband and I usually like to share a bag/suitcase; it's really a burden carry a lot of bags. Third, I don't like to spend a lot of time upstairs in the bedroom or bathroom pampering myself up for hours when it's suppose to be family time! Plus my family doesn't care about how I look, they're just happy I'm there :)

Mud Run

My husband and I participated in the Mud Games with a few of our friends. It was such an awesome day. The run comprised of two separate course routes, a short 1.5 mi course, and a longer 3.1 course. Each course has these obstacles (double decker tire run, wall rock climb, mud crawl etc) that you have to overcome in order to get to the finish line. Lots of huffing and puffing, but also many smiles and laughter. We all felt very accomplished afterwards; we definitely deserved that cold bottle of water! :) Getting cleaned up wasn't much fun when the mud was pretty much drying up with this hot weather. We also got the opportunity to hangout with Tony Horton, creator of P90X, before our run :)

Shortly after the run, my husband and I had to leave in time to attend my baby sister's high school graduation, which was out of town (a little over an hour of a drive) so we had to make time for a shower and the drive.
Congratulations baby sister!

Furry Tuesday

It's a little chilly today, so I decided to top today's outfit with a fur vest.
Since today is Tuesday, I'm hoping for dinner tonight we are having some BWWs! It's been a couple of years now that I've eaten there. My husband is working overtime tonight, so we'll have to see then :)

Top: Gap | Fur Vest: H&M | Pants: Buffalo David Bitton | Shoes: Nine West | Watch: Wet Seal | Jewelries: Forever 21

I also painted my nails this week. It's such a pretty baby blue color.
This is one of the newer colors from the Essie collection, and I believe it is one of the Resort shades. The color is called "In the Cab-ana".

Have a great rest of the day!
